Happy Holidays paranormal enthusiasts!
Despite the constant barrage of images we have of Santa Claus and crowded shopping
malls, ghosts have been a part of Christmas tradition for many years. Most
notable being the sprits mentioned in Charles Dickens popular work, 'A Christmas
Carol' written in 1843.
Unlike the more foreboding spirits that are so often stereotyped during the
Halloween season, the spirits associated with Christmas more often have been
shown to represent hope. You can read more about Christmas holiday
hauntings here.
We hope you enjoy this month's newsletter. If there are paranormal topics
you would like to see us cover in future newsletters, please leave a note on the

Investigations: King Residence
 |
Recently DSGH was asked to investigate a private residence in Queen Creek. What
made this particular investigation interesting was the activity described by the
owners of the residence and the belief that the paranormal activity witnessed by
them may have been attributed to a recently departed family member; their
beloved
cat.
|
Witnesses reported a lamp that would go on by itself
(and did not stop until a protrait of said cat was placed by the lamp!), and a
shadow figure of a woman was seen as well (thought by the husband to be his wife
until he realized she was upstairs at the time he witnessed it).
The investigation proved to be a remarkable one as the house itself was a hotbed
of activity! We found strong electromagnetic fields with no apparent man
made or natural sources we could identify. We did not experience the
activity the owners described, but evidence review showed a remarkable number of
Class A EVPs, video footage of our camera visably being shaken, and more!

Disappearing Object Phenomena
 |
As a side bar to the King residence investigation, one of our investigators had
a personal experience with this type of paranormal phenomena. In this
case, he had a pen in his possession that just vanished from his person during
the investigation.
|
Normally in cases such as these, one has to chalk up the possibility that he was simply absent minded,
or at best it is simply an unsubstantiated personal experience. However in this
case there was a twist, the owner remembered the pen too!
Read the details of the whole story here.
Oddly enough, you'll want to visit the forum again soon as the investigator in question has experienced this
phenomenon again recently. Is it possible something followed him home? Watch 'Investigator Journal' in the DSGH Forum for future details!
Ghost Tech: The Ghost Meter EMF

|
We have had the opportunity to use this particular EMF meter on a few
investigations now and have to admit that for the money, it is not a bad little
meter.
It can be purchased for as little as $25-$30 which is definately on the low end
when it comes to EMF meters in general. |
In the investigations where it has been used, a K-II meter was also used for a
comparison to see how it would fare in detecting EMF field strength in general,
as well as detecting field fluctuations.
The device measures EMF, both man made and natural without distinction, which is
little bit of a downer, but not unexpected for a device in this price range.
It has audible and visible alarms for when strong EMF is detected, which is good
when one is carrying a meter, a camera and a digital recording device too!
The only criticism we might level at the product has to do with the product
labeling itself. It hurts credibility when you slap a big 'Ghost Meter'
label on a device meant to measure EMF! Besides that, it appears to be a
good, inexpensive tool for the budding paranormal investigator, so long as they
know how to distinguish common man made sources from others source or EMF.
